Download Requirements for E-books to Android Device: These actions must be completed BEFORE downloading books to your Android device.
1. Install Chrome Web Browser to Android Device
2. Create an Adobe ID
Create an Adobe Digital Editions ID at the following link: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/membership/index.cfm?nf=1&nl=1&loc=en_us
Adobe Digital Editions 1.7.1 or higher id required. To update follow this link: http://www.adobe.com/products/digital-editions.html?promoid=DTEIO
3. Install Bluefire Reader App
Install the Bluefire Reader app onto your device. Bluefire is available for free via the following link: Bluefire Reader
After Bluefire Reader is installed, it will ask you to authorize the account. Enter your Adobe ID (username and password).
Follow Steps 1 - 7 for Downloading Books to Computer
Step 1 Follow this link to the JSCC Library homepage - https://www.jscc.edu/library/.
Step 2 Look under the section for resources and click on "Find E-books Only."
Step 3 Click on the link "EBSCO E-Books" (bold, green text).
Step 4 Downloading book requires you to create a free account, so click on the "Sign In" link at the top of the page (right side). You will be redirected to the login page. Click on “Create a New Account."
Step 5 Once you have created an account, click "Continue" and you will be directed back to the EBSCO eBooks homepage to begin searching for books.
Step 6 On the left side of the screen there is a link to download book offline - “Download this ebook (Offline)." Click on the link.
Step 7 A pop up screen will appear. Select the number of days (up to 7) that you want to have access to the book. Then, click "Checkout & Download."
Step 8 Open Bluefire Reader on your Android device. Bluefire should automatically prompt you to read books that have been downloaded to your library through Adobe.
Adobe Digital Editions 1.7.1 or higher (To access this version of adobe go to adobe.com and search for digital editions in the search box at the top right of the screen.)
