Downloading Ebooks: Downloading to Computer

Downloading from EBSCO EBooks to your computer

Step 1    Follow this link to the JSCC Library homepage -

Step 2    Look under the section for resources and click on "Find E-books Only."

Step 3    Click on the link "EBSCO E-Books" (bold, green text).

Step 4   Downloading book requires you to create a free account, so click on the "Sign In" link at the top of the page (right side).  You will be redirected to the login page. Click on “Create a New Account."

Step 5   Once you have created an account, click "Continue" and you will be directed back to the EBSCO eBooks homepage to begin searching for books.

Step 6   On the left side of the screen there is a link to download book offline -  “Download this ebook (Offline)." Click on the link. 

Step 7    A pop up screen will appear. Select the number of days (up to 7) that you want to have access to the book. Then, click "Checkout & Download."

Step 8   After you checkout your book, a screen will appear confirming your action. Now you will be able to access the book. There are two ways to view your book 1) Click on the link in the bottom left corner labeled, "URLink" (This is the link to the downloaded book), 2) Click on the link, "View Your Checkouts Folder Now" (This will take you to a list of all the books you have checked out).

Download Requirements: 

Adobe Digital Editions 1.7.1 or higher (To access this version of adobe go to and search for digital editions in the search box at the top right of the screen.)
