Controversial Issues Resources

Guide trains JSCC Library users about the best means of finding information in the Library, in online and print formats, on Controversial Issues topics. A single controversial topic is used for example in the guide: Health Care Reform

A Word About Citations:

Citations are the author-title-source information that researchers need to keep track of when they are gathering their research articles, books, reference books, and other research materials.  This information, the citation information, is necessary for writing a Works Cited page (a bibliography) for an essay, a term paper, an presentation, and for other class work.

Researchers write their works cited pages according to the style that they - or their instructors or publishers -- want them to use.  Three of the most used styles are:  MLA; Turabian; and, APA.  Often, instructors will want their students to use the APA style for technical or scientific reports and papers, such as for health science topics.
