Integrating Library Resources into eLearn

This guide is designed to assist faculty in integrating Library resources into eLearn.

Uploading an Article

To add a full-text article (PDF) to your content:

  1. Locate your article in a specific journal in the A-Z Databases or by using Search journal articles on the JSCC Library homepage.
  2. Click on the article title to navigate to the article.
  3. Once you are in the article, click Download to download a PDF of the article. Alternately, you can have a librarian email the PDF to you if you need assistance in finding an article.
  4. Upload into your content in eLearn: New > Upload Files > My Computer > Locate the file and upload it > Add

NOTE: You will get an accessibility score for your uploaded document. In order to have good accessibility, you may have to add information to a document reference file or elsewhere. Please contact a librarian if you need assistance.

Linking an Article

To link an article:

  1. Locate your article in a specific journal in the A-Z Databases or by using Search journal articles on the JSCC Library homepage.
  2. Click on the article title to navigate to the article.
  3. Once you are in the article, locate the Get Link (for Gale), Permalink (for EBSCO), or the URL under the article title OR the Remote Access URL in Item details (for JSTOR). Other specialty journals may use a Share option - choose the Record URL in those cases.
  4. Add to your eLearn content: New > Create a Link > Enter title and URL > Keep Open as External Resource checked
  5. Make sure the URL contains the EZProxy before you hit Create

Note: Articles can also be linked via Insert Stuff, which is helpful for news or discussion board posts.
